The pavilion is located on the site of a former heritage beef barn which was destroyed by fire in 1996. The structure consists of a series of hollow steel frames outlining the main framing and volume of the original barn. A floating flat roof is supported by the “A” frame structure.
The events pavilion hosts many Museum outdoor programs. A future second design phase of the pavilion includes the construction of a stage and service area in the location of a former service wing of the original barn.
